The Golden Gods are headed to VH1 Classic.  The network has announced plans to air this year's edition of the hard rock and heavy metal awards shows on May 24th.

Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson, and Jim Florentine from VH1 Classic's "That Metal Show" will host the event, which is scheduled to tape next Wednesday, April 23rd, at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.

Some of this year's honorees include Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose, who's getting the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award, and Joan Jett, the first female recipient of the Golden God Award.  They'll both be performing as well, with Zakk Wylde, Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, and many others also set to make an appearance.

In addition to next month's edited broadcast, fans will also be able to watch the entire Golden Gods Awards show next week on or the VH1 App.  The event kicks off with the Black Carpet pre-show at 10:00 pm. Eastern.
