Lima, Ohio (WIMA) - A grant program was recently announced by Ohio Senate President Keith Faber that will aid local fire departments with costs connecting to the Multi-Agency Communications System (MARCS).

MARCS is dedicated to providing Ohio’s first responders and public safety providers with state of the art wireless digital communications.

House Bill 483 provides an additional three million dollars to the MARCS Program.

The Bill was passed on June 4th by the Senate and signed by the Governor on June 16th- allowing the appropriation to become effective immediately.
