Security Tightened On International Flights To U.S.

Security is being tightened on foreign flights arriving in the U.S.  In a DC speech, Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said terrorists still view aviation as a "crown jewel."  He argued that "inaction is not an option."

Kelly said terrorists are always looking for weak links in security channels.  He did not outline the new measures because of security concerns.  Kelly said airlines that flunk U.S. safeguards or refuse to cooperate could face an expanded U.S. ban on laptops and other large electronic devices. The ban could potentially include checked bags, as well as carry-ons.
