See Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford Perform Genesis' "Follow You, Follow Me"

Genesis might not do another reunion, but the Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks trio that made up the last lineup of the band remain close friends.

If Collins and Rutherford have already proved that by touring Europe together this summer with their respective projects, Collins' solo band and Rutherford's Mike + The Mechanics, they made it clear at a recent concert in Berlin when the two collaborated on Genesis' 1978 hit "Follow You, Follow Me." It was the first time the two have performed together since 2007.

The audience erupted in applause when Collins introduced Rutherford. The longtime Genesis bassist strolled to an acoustic guitar at a seat next to his former drummer. As the band began to play, the video screen behind the stage rolled footage of Genesis.

Collins' 'Not Dead Yet, Live!' tour has seen the singer working more Genesis material into his live concerts than in years past, when he's focused mostly on his solo catalog.

Since Collins returned to performing live in 2015, he and his former Genesis band mates, Rutherford, Banks and even guitarist Steve Hackett (who left the band in 1976) have addressed the possibility of one last reunion.

All four have acknowledged that Collins' inability to play drums again is an obstacle to a reunion. Collins himself suggested his son Nic Collins, who has been playing drums in his live band for several years, could fulfill the role.

Banks confirmed early last year that he and Rutherford see one another often, and that he "wouldn't rule [a reunion] out at all."

Rutherford said earlier this spring that the fact that Phil has figured out a way to perform despite his physical challenges "quite interesting" and acknowledged that he does miss playing Genesis music live.
