WATCH: The Sopranos Movie Trailer Is Out, And It Looks Awesome!

Via In the 86th episode of The Sopranos called, "Made In America," Tony Soprano's family joins him for dinner at a diner. Journey is playing in the background as his daughter Meadow arrives late just as a mysterious man enters, we hear a bell, Tony looks up, the screen went black.

14 years later the long awaited trailer to the Sopranos prequel movie, "The Many Saints of Newark," came out today. The late James Gandolfini's son, Michael, plays a young Tony Soprano. The resemblance to his Dad is striking. Other actors include Alessandro Nivola as Dickie Moltisanti (Christopher’s father), Jon Bernthal as Giovanni “Johnny Boy” Soprano, Corey Stoll as Junior Soprano, Vera Farmiga as Tony’s mother Livia Soprano, Billy Magnussen as Paulie “Walnuts” Gualtieri, John Magaro as Silvio Dante; plus there’s Leslie Odom Jr., Michaela De Rossi and Ray Liotta.

The movie is set in 1967. New Line Cinema and Paramount Pictures describe the story,

“Young Anthony Soprano is growing up in one of the most tumultuous eras in Newark’s history, becoming a man just as rival gangsters begin to rise up and challenge the all-powerful DiMeo crime family’s hold over the increasingly race-torn city. Caught up in the changing times is the uncle he idolizes, Dickie Moltisanti, who struggles to manage both his professional and personal responsibilities — and whose influence over his impressionable nephew will help make the teenager into the all-powerful mob boss we’ll later come to know: Tony Soprano.”

"The Many Saints of Newark," opens in theaters and streams on HBO Max starting October 1st.
